Founded way back in ’25, it’s come a long way. Started small, helping Black students in the South. Now? Four-year degrees, grad school, even doctorates! They’re still committed, to students and Louisiana. It’s inspiring, really.

Eleven colleges and schools! Seriously, it’s crazy. Agriculture, Arts & Sciences, Business… Even Law and Pharmacy! Nursing too! They got it all. I’m kinda jealous.
Campus Life: It’s Lit!
Over a thousand acres! Beautiful buildings, old and new. University Hall, it’s iconic. Over 100 clubs! Sports teams, intramurals… NCAA Division I, that’s impressive. The whole vibe is just… energetic.
Research? They’re Killing It!
High Research Activity, that’s what they are. Engineering, agriculture, health… Breakthroughs everywhere! They got centers for everything. Seriously, impressive stuff.
Awards Galore!
US News, Princeton Review, Forbes… Top HBCU, every time! They’re killing it. Deservedly so.
Famous Alumni? Oh Yeah!
Governors, Congressmen, even CEOs of huge companies! NFL and NBA stars too! Southern U, it’s a powerhouse. I’m seriously impressed.
The Bottom Line
Southern University? It’s incredible. The history, the academics, the research… It’s all amazing. They’re making a real difference. Go Jags!
