Wake County Public Schools sees significant growth and progress

Wake County schools? Amazing! Top ten in NC, says Niche.com. Seriously impressive. GreatSchools gave ’em an 8/10. That’s pretty darn good, right? But, uh, the numbers are kinda confusing. Sixty-four percent white students, 37% Black, and the rest… well, it’s diverse, I guess. Lotsa programs, AP, IB, magnet schools. They got money, too – a $2.5 billion budget! Wowzers. Superintendent Williams is in charge. He’s been there since 2022. The school board? Eleven people. They’re always busy, I hear. There’s been some drama, though. Mask mandates, COVID stuff, you know. Some folks aren’t happy. But hey, 14:1 student-teacher ratio! That’s pretty good. Special needs programs too. Overall, WCPSS is doing pretty well. Lots of opportunities. But, you know, it’s not perfect. Still, a pretty good story. I’m impressed.
