Kurt Russell: The Action Hero with a Heart of Gold, Kinda.

As the entertainment industry keeps on changin’, one guy really stands out – Kurt Russell. Seriously, the dude’s been around for like, forever! Five decades, man! He’s acted, directed, even flown planes – total badass. This here’s about the latest news, his awesome career, and his personal life, ya know, the stuff that makes him human. Or, at least, human-ish.

Recent News

Kurt Russell’s back! And I’m so freakin’ happy about it! In February, 2023 – or was it March? Time flies, I guess – they announced he’s in a new Disney+ thing, “The Ballad of Death Canyon.” It’s set in the 1930s, outlaws, the whole shebang. [1] Sounds wild! He’s always been good at picking cool roles, even if some of them are a little…weird.

Plus, he’s back as Ego in that Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special thingy on Disney+. [2] Coming out in November, I think? I’m not sure, I’m terrible with dates. But hey, more Kurt Russell is always good news, right?

For his 70th birthday – April, I think – he had a huge party. Like, seriously huge. Lee Van Cleef’s son was there! [3] That’s gotta be a pretty awesome guest list. I bet it was a blast. Probably way more fun than my birthday parties.

Career Highlights

Kurt started way back in the 60s, doing little bits on TV shows. “The Virginian,” “The Rifleman,” stuff like that. But then, BAM! “Elvis” in 1979. That’s when everyone knew he was a star. A total heartthrob, even.

Then came “Escape from New York” in ’81. Snake Plissken! That role made him a total action hero. He’s done everything since then – dramas, comedies, sci-fi…the guy’s got range. Seriously impressive. I mean, who else could pull off that many different roles?

He’s gotten tons of awards and stuff, even a Golden Globe nomination for “Tango & Cash.” The man’s dedicated, that’s for sure.

Personal Life

His personal life is pretty interesting too. He’s been married twice. First to Season Hubley, then to Christine McVie. He’s got a bunch of kids, too. Family man, you know? Though I’m sure it’s not always easy juggling a family and a career like his.

When he’s not acting, he’s flying his own plane. Seriously. The guy’s a pilot. That’s just cool. I wish I could fly a plane.

Here’s some of his best movies:
