The White House, man, it’s a sight! Located in D.C., it’s been every president’s home since, like, 1800. John Adams, I think? This iconic building, it’s got history, architecture, security – the whole shebang! We’re diving into it all today. Seriously, it’s amazing.
That Irish architect, Hoban, right? He designed it, built between 1792 and 1800. Originally, it was the Executive Mansion. Sounds kinda stuffy, huh? But the neoclassical design? Pure American democracy, or so they say. It’s beautiful, though.
Fifty-five rooms! Eighteen acres! Crazy, right? White sandstone, all fancy inside. Neoclassical and Victorian stuff. Four hundred twelve windows! One hundred and thirty-two doors! Eight staircases! Seventy feet tall! I almost fainted writing that down.
Security’s tight. Ten-foot fence! A moat! Motion detectors, cameras…the works. Three hundred and eighty-five security peeps. Secret Service, military – the whole nine yards. They’re serious about protecting the prez.
Sixteen bedrooms, for the First Family and all. It’s their home, but also, you know, a workplace. Lots of official stuff happens there. Big events, receptions…the works.
Renovations? Oh yeah. Air conditioning in the 40s! A big restoration in the 60s. More updates in the 90s. It’s always changing, I guess. Keeping up with the times.
More facts? Okay, 385 security people, 16 bedrooms, 35 bathrooms. Seriously, who needs that many bathrooms? It’s a palace, I tell ya.
Recent stuff? Protests, press conferences, anniversary events. It’s always buzzing. A lot has happened there. A lot.
