Vevo Basketball: A New Era? Maybe.
Sports streaming’s changin’, right? Vevo’s jumpin’ in, big time. They started with music, then BAM! Basketball. Crazy, I know. Those former MTV execs, Shankar, Hunter, Iqbal—smart cookies. 2013, they snagged NBA rights in the UK and Ireland. That was huge!
Partnerships? Loads. FITE TV, DAZN, even Apple TV+. It’s a mess, honestly. They got games, highlights, even documentaries. Some folks love it, others… not so much.
Features? Vevo On Demand—a library of stuff. Vevo Sports+—premium, ad-free. They even got this AI thingy. Supposedly analyzes players. Sounds kinda cool, but I’m skeptical.
But there’s drama! The 2020 blackout thing was a nightmare. People were furious! Pirated streams everywhere. It was a mess. A total mess. They’re still recovering from that PR disaster, I think.
Latest news? More partnerships! More VR stuff! Global expansion! They’re everywhere now. It’s kinda overwhelming.
The future? Who knows? Vevo’s betting big on basketball. It’s a gamble, but hey, they’re making waves. Whether those waves are good or bad… time will tell. I’m still not sure about the AI thing, though. Seems a bit gimmicky to me.
