Atlantic Hurricane Season to be at or above average this year

Estimated read time 2 min read

Hurricane season’s comin’, folks! June 1st, it hits. Atlantic, Caribbean, Gulf – all at risk. Big winds, floods, total chaos, you know? This year, 2025, it’s lookin’ pretty nasty.

The NHC, those guys, they’re sayin’ above average. Like, a lot of named storms. Maybe 14 to 19! Six to eight hurricanes, possibly even four major ones. Yikes! La Niña’s messin’ things up too, apparently. CSU agrees, more or less. They’re even more pessimistic, I think.

Last year, 2024, was a record-breaker! Eighteen named storms! Eleven hurricanes! Five major ones! Crazy, right? But hey, not all hurricanes are equal. Some are worse, much worse.

Atlantic season runs June 1st to November 30th. Eastern Pacific’s a bit earlier, May 15th. Central Pacific’s the same as the Atlantic. Gotta know your region, people!

Prepare! Make a plan, a real plan. Emergency kit – food, water, batteries, the whole shebang. Stay informed! Listen to the news, check those weather reports. Seriously, don’t be caught off guard.

Need info? Check the NHC, NOAA, and CSU. They’re the experts. They know their stuff. Trust them. They’re good people. Mostly.

Average storms? Fourteen named, seven hurricanes, three major ones. But, 2024 showed us anything can happen. Be ready! Stay safe! This is important stuff, people! Don’t mess around!
